Do I need to have an account with Apple iTunes?
Yes.
How much does AppSizer cost?
99 cents.
Will I be entitled to free upgrade revisions?
Yes, but as long as it's through the same iTunes account earlier revs were purchased through.

Will you eventually include other types of applications in AppSizer?

Please let us know what you would like included, and if it's common enough, or asked for enough, we will try to add it to the AppSizer.

What if my hand calculations don't match those from AppSizer?

Please send us details of your application and calculations, along with all the numbers you entered into each of the fields and the Units associated with each number, and we will review it for you.

Where do I find motor inertia?

This is found in the motor catalog for the brand of motor you will be using. Once you have determined the required speed and torque, just plug in the motor inertia for the motor that best meets your requirements. Don’t forget to update the motor inertia if you switch to a different motor, since all motors have differing rotor inertias.

Can results or entries from calculator or application page be sent to another application page?

Results don’t get sent automatically, but you can “cut and paste” results from one page into another application page.

Can I customize the motion profile to something other than triangular or 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 trapezoidal move?

We hope to allow for customizable motion profiles in the next rev.

What is a safe inertia mismatch to use?

Usually the rule of thumb is under 10:1. However, it depends on the accelerations and desired performance. High performance applications may require inertia mismatches of under 5:1. Conversely, low performance applications with low acceleration rates may be able to tolerate higher inertia mismatches.

Will Applied Mechatronics size my application?
Yes, but but since we get paid by getting our products specified in our geographic overage area, we may have to refer you to one of our rep partners if you're outside of our region.
